Logotherapy & Existential Analysis

Viktor Emil Frankl, M.D., Ph.D., (March 26, 1905 - September 2, 1997) was an Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist as well as a Holocaust survivor.
Frankl was the founder of logotherapy and existential analysis, the "Third Viennese School" of psychotherapy.

In Logotherapy/Existential Analysis (LTEA) the search for a meaning in life is identified as the primary motivational force in human beings.

Frankl's approach is based on three philosophical and psychological concepts:
  • Freedom of Will
  • Will to Meaning, and
  • Meaning in Life
